Since its founding, Kyowa has been committed to research and development, effectively combining its fermentation, chemical synthesis and biotechnologies to evaluate, develop and bring to market some of the most advanced health products and manufacturing processes. The word "Hakko" means fermentation in Japanese, the key technology of our company.
We conduct functional research that contributes to better living by scientifically elucidating the physiological functions of ingredients such as amino acids. We implement basic research and verify the safety of our products as well as develop the processing technologies needed to formulate our ingredients into granules, tablets and beverages and provide useful information from our research to customers.
Our research is carried out both internally and by third-party scientists, and the majority of our findings has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Kyowa's research and development staff continues to pursue new research opportunities.
